0800 numbers are now free from mobiles but it’s not all good news

A change in the way you are billed for calls has come into place, which means contacting us via our 0800 numbers on your mobile is now free.

Here’s what you need to know

From today (July 1) new rules came into force changing the way you’re charged for calling any number beginning with 08, 09 or 118 from your mobile.

Calls to 0800 and 0808 numbers from landlines were already free, but calls from mobiles to these and other numbers had widely varying charges. No more – 0800 and 0808 numbers are now free from all phones.

But it’s not all good news

Charges to 084, 087, 09 and 118 numbers are changing too – and in this case you’d better be careful, with network operators allowed to charge what they like in many cases.

Please contact your service provider and check which numbers are likely to increase your mobile phone bill.
