Ombudsman: Reported debt complaints are less than 0.1%

I think I’ve found something else to be proud of in our industry (debt resolution).

Like most other businesses in financial services, our clients can complain to the Financial Ombudsman Service. They’ve just published  the Financial Ombudsman Service Annual Report.

Consumers are being made more and more aware of this service so I’m not surprised that more people are using it – around 25% more this year. But, I was surprised to see the number of complaints that had been made about debt counselling services – 163, or 0.09% of all cases.

Looks like the efforts companies like ours are making to raise standards are paying off.
