Brits undeterred by debt

Some 76 per cent of people in the UK are not unduly worried about the impact of energy bills, taxes and a potential interest rate rise on their finances, up by one per cent from the first quarter of the year.

According to CreditExpert’s new report, this is coupled with the fact that 13 per cent admit they are likely to fall further into debt over the coming months.

Perhaps most worrying is the fact that fewer people who have a mortgage and use three or more loans or credit cards are troubled about the amount they owe.

Even though 22 per cent managed to decrease their debt over the last three months, concerns will remain as long as so many people seem to be content with their level of borrowing.
