Getting a good mortgage ‘should be a priority’
Getting a good mortgage deal should be a financial priority for homeowners around the UK, it has been claimed.
Cammy Amaira, director of sales at the Intelligent Finance company, suggests that by searching for the most competitive home loan on the market, UK consumers can save themselves money and potentially avoid further debt management difficulties.
Mr Amaira’s comments came after research by his own organisation found that single Britons are considerably less likely to pay attention to the changes to the base rate of interest than their coupled counterparts.
“It seems that the image of the care-free single is certainly true where mortgages are concerned,” said Mr Amaira.
“But regardless of whether you are single or in a relationship, making your money work harder for you by choosing the right mortgage should be a priority.”
Many British homeowners found it more difficult to become debt free last year after the base rate of interest was increased five times in 12 months from August 2005.
