Britain’s “frivolous” spending revealed

A full three million people living in the UK count themselves among the country’s frivolous spenders, figures from the recent Unbiased poll reveal.

Meanwhile, with the British debt management problems continuing to pile up, the research found that only 1.5 million people pay close attention to their financial habits and opt for the most appropriate credit arrangement.

David Elms, chief executive of Unbiased, commented: “This year’s research into the nation’s propensity to save shows some improvement, but it is disappointing that we still define ourselves as a nation of spenders rather than a nation of savers.”

A study from Churchill Home Insurance revealed last week that attending the weddings of friends and family is proving a costly business for many Brits and could be causing more concerns for those facing credit card debt problems.
