East Midlands offered financial education

Those in the east Midlands considering planning for their retirements are to be assisted by The Nottingham building society, which is providing educational seminars to help people tackle financial challenges.

Two events are to be held between November 11th and 18th in Nottingham, with one further workshop taking place on November 25th in Grantham.

Lorraine Giddings, the Nottingham’s head of branch network, observed that many people do not know where to start regarding financial planning, although they are keen to do so.

“We can explain to people what the challenges of the next 20 years are likely to be and give them expert advice on what they can do to ensure they put themselves in the best position,” she said.

These seminars could be of benefit to those not wishing to fall into debt once they have left their jobs.

Last month, Andrew Harrop of Age Concern and Help the Aged recommended those in retirement consider taking on paid work, to boost their incomes during their twilight years.
