Warning issued for UK homebuyers

The Allied Surveyors organisation indicates that many people are not taking proper precautions to ensure that they are getting good value for their property investments.

Furthermore, certain problems, including structural irregularities, can create serious financial headaches for homebuyers, only a quarter of which ensure a property is checked for faults before making a purchase, according to figures from AA Legal Services.

“Serious structural issues can prove incredibly expensive for a property owner and, if undetected for long periods of time, can cause many thousands of pounds worth of damage,” said Chris Rispin, technical director of Allied Surveyors.

Millions of homeowners in the UK have faced further debt management issues in recent months as the Bank of England continues to increase the cost of borrowing nationwide.
