Local Community and Charity

At ClearDebt, we are proud to actively engage and encourage employee support for specially selected local charities and projects which we feel strongly about. As we continue our fundraising efforts throughout the year, you can read below exactly which charities we are focusing on.

ClearDebt’s chosen charity for 2014-15 was ChildFlight.

ChildFlight is a children’s charity established in 1987 to offer flights and holidays for sick and deserving children of all ages. Based  at Manchester Airport, the charity has strong links to fundraising in Manchester, Blackpool, Wirral and the North West of England.

To date the charity has provided over 270 flights for children to receive medical treatments and therapies abroad. With such a caring and enthusiastic team of volunteers, Childflight continues to change children’s lives with the generosity of many companies, organisations and individuals who raise and donate money.

The Wellspring Centre

The Wellspring Centre

In 2013, ClearDebt’s chosen charity to devote our best efforts to was The Wellspring Centre.

Located in Stockport, The Wellspring is a resource centre for homeless and disadvantaged people. The centre is open 365 days a year and actively engages with homeless people, providing advice and support, as well as referrals into housing or supported accommodation.

The paid staff at The Wellspring have supported over 700 people into housing of some description, all of whom were sleeping rough on the streets at some time. The Wellspring offers educational courses as well as providing a  full GP service, 2 fully operational PCT spec surgeries and a PCT nurse on site who can address any health problems.

Over 100 people use the services at The Wellspring every day of the year. As a company, ClearDebt will aim to provide regular volunteer rotas from our staff here who can assist in the kitchens, talking to visitors in the centre, helping with any tasks needed from the professional team there and where possible helping people with reading, basic maths skills and financial advice.

Tough Guy Challenge 2013

Tough Guy Challenge 2013

ClearDebt also sponsored Magnus in the Tough Guy Challenge 2013. The event comprises an 8 mile muddy run combined with an assault course involving heights, deep freezing water, fire, barbed wire and electrocution!

ClearDebt donated £500 to the Magnus team who completed the challenge. The money raised went to a local charity which needs vital support.

Thank you very much indeed for the generous donation of £500 made by Cleardebt to the Magnus Tough Guy Challenge. Their total is now somewhere around £6,500 which is fantastic but very well deserved judging from the pictures! We are very grateful to you for your support.
